Affluent Flowers is a division of Mayumi Miyata Floral Designs, a leading floral event company. Affluent Flowers is located in Irvine, California, and offers local delivery to Irvine, Tustin, Newport Beach, and several other Orange County communities. We are part of the Mayumi Retail Group, which includes several other retail stores in Southern California. We offer several exclusive floral design product lines, but we also can accept wire orders from several major floral wire services, and we can wire out orders anywhere in the U.S. and most international destinations via these same services.
Our MissionWe are chartered with making designs created by the Mayumi Miyata event teams available to non-event customers. Our goal is to provide the quality and service that make floral designs exciting and special, and in so doing, bring back the customers who have been tempted by the low-priced generic, and often pathetic, super-store offerings to the artistic, creativity-inspiring beauty that true floral designers and floral design artists bring to life. Our work will be done when the last "that's nice" arrangement has been shoved off the shelf of your local hardware or grocery store and dumped into the giant metal box in the back where it belongs. Flowers are one of nature's miracles, and deserve to be handled and complemented by master craft-persons who bring out their beauty, and bring their aesthetic voices to life.
Company ProfileOur chief designer is Mayumi Miyata, a woman of extraordinary talent who can coax beauty out of tooth picks. Just as Picasso used the same paints as every want-to-be artist, but somehow managed to produce something new and wonderful in the world, Mayumi can take the same basic flowers available to every person with a flower knife and a plan, and transform them into little works of art that bring smiles to every face, and ideas to every mind. You can almost sense the happiness in the roses that play a part in her designs - as if they know where they are, and they are thrilled to have escaped the mundane, and joined the few. Lily Pu is the senior designer for the Affluent Flowers product line. Her work with foliage and accents brings an entirely new dimension to her designs. When you see the little bird resting on the branch of one of her creations, look a little closer and you'll see that the bird is shaped from a leaf. Look closer still, and you'll see that the bird isn't resting on the leaf, but is in fact part of it; is made from it. Just as nature finds its own harmony, Lily's designs bring a level of technical artistry that create a theme that you can't help but notice as you enjoy the beauty of her work. All of our designers are talented, but given the training path they follow, it's no surprise. We hire senior designers from other firms to join our event teams as assistants. When they have proven themselves on those teams, they are given the opportunity to create designs that we display at trade shows and bridal events. If their designs are good enough to attract the discerning eyes of brides and planners, in other words if people choose their designs at the shows and select the designers as a consequence, then they get to play a more advanced role within those event teams. Eventually, they may be given an opportunity to lead one of our event teams, or alternatively, join one of our other entities, such as Affluent Flowers. Look at our private catalog designs and see for yourself - when you hire amazingly talented people, take away the silly constraints of poorly run businesses, and let them play, the way all true artists need to work, then you get the magic that you'll see in our designs.
